•Initiated use of pre-recorded
music at Edmonton Oilers professional hockey games.
•Prepared a detailed franchise
development plan to increase profitability for the Los Angeles
Kings when asked by the King’s
owner, Wayne Gretzky and his agent.
•Organized three Stanley Cup
Luncheons as a service for the National Hockey League and
produced record profits and attendance.
•Managed and mentored the
established and emerging careers of numerous elite athletes
including Olympic Medalists, World Champions, and NHL players
who won over 30 Stanley Cups, including an MVP Hart Trophy
winner Mark Messier, the NHL Man of the Year Kevin Lowe and
numerous first round draft selections in Washington, New York,
Chicago, St. Louis, Dallas and more.
•Individually prepared and
presented the case for what turned out to be the highest salary
arbitration award in the history of the National Hockey League.
•Arranged the final NHL rookie
contract prior to the implementation of a salary cap for 6.7
million USD.
•Helped to discover master portrait
artist Benjamin McCready who has now created official portraits
of four United States Presidents.
•One of the leaders to first
license limited edition sports art on behalf of world-class
athletes.
•Created and financed a TV pilot;
received a broadcasting contract.
•Created a sales management
strategy and directed an increase in revenues for Canada’s
largest video communications firm by 60% in two years.
•Provided initial creative input
for Hockey Day in Canada and delivered an editorial titled “The
Spirit of the Game” to a national TV audience on the inaugural
CBC Hockey Day in Canada broadcast.
•Served on and chaired numerous
charitable and professional boards of directors. Chaired the
board of directors of Canada’s largest non-profit social service
agency and was elected to represent Canada and served on the
board of directors of the Child Welfare League of America,
Washington, DC.
•One of 100 Canadians invited to
attend a national conference focused on the development of
hockey
in Canada and directly contributed to writing three of eleven
national recommendations for the development of hockey in
Canada.
•Editorial writer for the Calgary
Herald, Edmonton Journal and Street & Smith Sports Business
Journal.
•Created the ATHLEADERS hockey
summit and invited 16 international expert panelists who
attended. In conjunction advised the Publisher, Editor, Sports
Editor and all sports reporters on the themes and inspirational
intentions of 26 pages of editorial in the Calgary Herald
newspaper, which received ASSOCIATED PRESS recognition for
